Scrapwhat?

I'm so behind with all the kids scrapbooks! I need to carve out some time to work on them. I'm sure if I had my table in my office/craft room cleared off, I might have a better chance of doing something! I can't remember the last time I did any pages.

I thought if I did the pages digitally on my computer, I'd whip them out in no time and get the books caught up.

Wrong.

I think doing the pages digitally is harder. I think I prefer the good ol paper/scissors/glue method. But I have lots of digital kits now so I need to use them. At least on a few pages.

What about you? Are you behind or all caught up? Do you scrap whenever you get the urge or do you have a set day/time to do it? Please tell me I'm not alone!?!?!?

More than meets the eye....

Me & Lucas were driving home today from our breakfast with Michele & Emma (hi!) and we saw a teeny tiny little yellow car. I said to Lucas "look at the little yellow car!". His response?

"It's a transformer!"

he he. Classic.

Where's spring?

I really don't like this HOT weather. 86* is too hot for me. Especially when my pool is only 60*. And when it's still May. It's not summer yet and 86* is summer weather...not spring weather.

I like nice 68* days with a slight breeze. A little overcast is good.

I don't do good in the heat. Headaches, sick to my stomach. Not fun. Don't ask me to go to the beach because if I can't keep my umbrella up for shade, I'm not going to be nice.

I really hope the weekend is exactly how they say it's gonna be.

68 and partly cloudy. =)

Weight loss is so darn hard!

I started Weight Watchers back in January. I was doing good for awhile...almost to my 5% goal and then I slipped. And slipped. One week I'm down, the next week I'm back up again! UGH. It's so frustrating.

I'm down 4.6lbs. Not bad. But not where I wanted to be this many months later either!

I'm recommitting myself tomorrow. Need to do it. Summer is coming and I want to watch my sizes keep going down! I want to get to a healthy weight. I want to be a good role model for my daughter. I need to do it!

I just need to get rid of the devil in my kitchen right now...who wants some of Jess' Cinnamon Apple Cake? ;)

Reflections....

Hubby & I were just sitting back and reflecting on life.

It seemed like not long ago when we decided to move in together and get our own apartment. We were barely making ends meet to try to pay for our rent & bills, save for a house and save for our wedding. Our parents really helped us out in the wedding department and then our generous family & friends helped out with the house part through our wedding gifts.

Once we bought our home, we were still struggling to get our mortgage paid, bills paid and credit cards paid. We didn't know if we'd every get ahead. When we decided to have children, we pretended I didn't have an income to get used to it because we both wanted me to stay home with the kids. Things were hard but sacrifices were made.

Then we really threw caution to the wind and started our own company. Talk about being scared! But that has paid off. I'm so proud of hubby with all his hard work to make his company as successful as it is. It's getting bigger & bigger every year.

We never thought we'd be where we are now.

We are blessed to have a roof over our heads & food on the table. Truly blessed to have such wonderful kids. Blessed to have such a great family. Blessed to have some fantastic friends. So blessed to have each other in this journey.....and to see where it leads us next.

=)

He's almost three....

....and he can operate a Nintendo DS like nothing?!?! Really? Lucas can't potty train but give him a DS and he can turn on his games and play them like his 8yo brother! I don't know if I should be proud of it....or scared. ;)

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week.....Teacher's Day is on Tuesday, May 5th. Are you doing something special for your child's teacher?

I dropped the ball this year and haven't done anything yet! Last year, I had the kids draw pictures and write "From the desk of TEACHER'S NAME" and then I scanned them and had note pads made thru Vista Print. They came out cute!

The year before that, I made some Teacher Survival Kits with candies and the meanings behind them. Like I put a Jolly Rancher for "when they need a little happiness" or a 100 Grand bar because "that's what you are worth" etc. Those were nice...I even sold a few!

This year...no idea. I think I'm going to attempt to alter a clipboard for the teachers and have the kids decorate them. Teachers can always use a clipboard, right? And I'll send in a yummy treat that I've baked.

What about you? Any ideas? Or if you're a teacher....what do you NOT want? (Hi Jenni!)
