I came across this poem today and love it. It's so true. I really need to slow down and play with the kids more....they are only young once!
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.

It's true Jen, they grow up really fast - one day you'll turn around and they'll be adults and you'll wonder where the time went. Connecting with my kids was always important to me which is why my house was so often a disaster but my kids could always talk to me. I consider them and Glen my best friends. We all really enjoy being together.

Amen! I really have tried to keep these things in mind. I mess up - but I try.
