This week is Teacher Appreciation Week.....Teacher's Day is on Tuesday, May 5th. Are you doing something special for your child's teacher?
I dropped the ball this year and haven't done anything yet! Last year, I had the kids draw pictures and write "From the desk of TEACHER'S NAME" and then I scanned them and had note pads made thru Vista Print. They came out cute!
The year before that, I made some Teacher Survival Kits with candies and the meanings behind them. Like I put a Jolly Rancher for "when they need a little happiness" or a 100 Grand bar because "that's what you are worth" etc. Those were nice...I even sold a few!
This year...no idea. I think I'm going to attempt to alter a clipboard for the teachers and have the kids decorate them. Teachers can always use a clipboard, right? And I'll send in a yummy treat that I've baked.
What about you? Any ideas? Or if you're a teacher....what do you NOT want? (Hi Jenni!)

As we have moved around a bit I have had the pleasure I having some terrific teachers work with my daughter. I love to show my apprecation with things that are cute and usable to them both at home or class. I started making flower pen vases and EVERYONE that I have given one to loves them. you get a bunch of silk flowers (i usually go to dollar tree for all my supplies except the pens) Roses work good for these. you'll need a pair of wire cutters a roll of floral tape and however many pens you plan to give. I usually do 1/2 a dozen in a short wide vase filled with stones or glass pebbles. simply cut the stems of te flowers so that they come about an inch (to leave room for the cap) above the point of the pen. hold the stem against te pen and wrap it tightly with the floral tape to cover one end to the other. do not wrap it to thick towards the point or the cap won't go back on. When the pens are done I arrange them in the vase and tie a cute ribbon or twine to match the flowers with a handmade note of thanks around the vase. I always hand deliver these myself so that there is no risk of my 1st grader dropping the glass vase.
I've made those before! But used coffee beans in the pots. They were a big hit...totally forgot about them! =)
As the kids get older, it is hard to know whether to do anything and what to do. So no, I haven't done anything yet.
Hi Jen!
The scavenger hunt is ready to go!
To help scavenger hunters locate the participating blogs, we've designed a special badge for you to post in a prominent place on your site through the duration of the hunt. The goal is once they see the badge, they'll spend some time looking through your posts to find the answer.
You can get your badge at this blog post:
