Nightly Chats

Once the kids are in bed, I go up and tuck them in. When my son EJ asks me to lay down for him, I know it's chat time. Our chats range from what we're going to do the next day to how to get girls to like him (oh boy). Tonight's chat was about college.

He's only 8.

At dinner I said something about college to him and he turned his nose up and said how he was not going to college. I told him it was fun and he should really not think that way now. So when I tucked him and asked me to lay down with him, I knew it was chat time. I didn't think it would be about college though! He wanted to know about classes, what the dorms would be like and if he could have a little fridge in it, what you did on the weekends and about the cafeteria. He says he's gonna eat pizza, chips and soda every single day. I told him I think he'd get sick of that fast!

After this chat, I think he's not so against college anymore. Of course, he's got a good 10 years before he needs to worry about it!

Nothing wrong with thinking ahead! LOL!

Douglas talks A LOT about going to MIT, and I talk a lot about getting scholarships. :-D

What a great idea...chat time. Will have to start implementing that one. I'm sure he'll love college when he is old enough to go. Hopefully he still call you once and awhile to chat!
