Sleepovers!

It just occurred to me that EJ went on his first "official" sleepover last night. Well, it didn't just occur that he was gone because that would make me a bad mommay, but that it was his first one! He's been away from us before but just at his cousin's house. It's really possible that he's old enough for sleepovers? That's just crazy! What's next...girlfriend??? Oh boy!

It worked out great...his friends mom came to pick up her son from EJ's pool party and offered to just take EJ too. Maddie is having her pool party today with all her little girlfriends from class so it's good EJ is away. We'll pick him up at a birthday party him & his friend are invited to today. The stars aligned on that one!

Medieval Manor

I have to say...this was so much fun!! You can read about it on the website here. It's pretty raunchy with lots of sexual innuendos (which I totally loved, lol) but lots of fun. You get 6 courses of food and you have to eat everything without utensils: bread, pizza, soup, salad, ribs and chicken/veggies. It was pretty yummy. They do the show during the whole meal and the wenches were also the performers on stage. I honestly can't even say what the show was about but we all laughed our butts off! We lucked out and were seated right up front and our good buddy Glenn was made royal peon for the night! He was picked on all night long but a good sport about it all. It cost $35 a person plus tip....a great deal as far as I'm concerned! We splurged and rented a limo for the night...how often do you do that? It was nice to be able to drink and not worry about the driving part! So if you're in the Boston area and looking for something fun to do with friends...definitely put this on your list!

Need my mojo back!

I was doing SO good for the first 2 weeks of June. I was walking 20+ miles a week, doing some of the Leslie Sansone dvds and religiously wearing my pedometer. Did ok for week 3 but then just tanked for week 4. UGH. I think I still made my goal of 75 miles in June....or at least I will...but I need to get back with the program and get my lazy ass walking again!! I need some inspiration...got any you can share? Pretty please???

Fabultastic Party Punch

My friend Jess gave me the recipe for this oh-so-yummy party punch. It's so good...and you can't taste any of the alcohol. I have a big pitcher of it made and just waiting for our limo ride up to the Medieval Manor. No driving=lots to drink for me!

Here's the punch:

Magic Punch Recipe2
1 can thawed Orange/Pineapple/Apple juice
1 can thawed Strawberry Breeze juice
Coconut rum
Pineapple rum
Splash of peach schnapps
1 bottle of ginger ale

Combine all the above into a 1 gallon pitcher or punch bowl. (I estimate the alcohol). YUM!

Thanks Jess!

Take 2 smarties and call me in the morning...

Smarties .....Not only are they a candy that taste yummy but they are a "medicine" in our home. Belly Ache? Leg cramp? Finger hurts? Here's some Smarties, kid! My mom used to tell me that she gave me Smarties when I was little and had a belly ache and wanted some medicine. Miraculously I'd feel better after taking my "medicine". Well....when I had kids I started doing the same thing. My mom saw me doing this last weekend and thought it was funny.
"Are those....?"
"Yup!"
Maddie has had a belly ache the past few days and wanted some medicine. Gave her 2 of the same color Smarties and she felt better about a half hour later. ;) She never questions why they are different colors each time, lol. So I keep some packages of Smarties up with the children's medicines and reach for them when the kids aren't really sick.

Ice Cream

Can you tell what I want right now??

This weekend we ventured to Erickson's Ice Cream here in Carver. Our 2nd trip of the season so far. We all strayed away from our "usual" ice creams and each tried a new flavor. EJ's usual is Cookie Dough but he got Oreo. Maddie skipped her Mint Chocolate Chip for my usual, Coffee Kahlua Brownie. I got Cake Batter ice cream with strawberries. Eric usually gets Cheesecake and he opted for Moose Tracks. Lucas got Chocolate Chip...we gave him a little extra than his plain vanilla. We like the ice cream there although it's a bit expensive.

Another place we like to go for ice cream is Eastover Farms in Rochester. We found this place by mistake. It's a little farmstand that serves ice cream and hot dogs. The kids love to go visit the clydesdale horses and see the mules. It's hard to pass right by Erickson's for this place but once in awhile we make it.

Free Movies!

Are the kids driving you nuts yet? Mine are close but haven't quite pushed me over, lol. Today I brought the kids to the free movie at the local cinema. Surprisingly, Lucas did very good! I was nervous how he'd be in a theater.....his fits, his loudness, his ability to disappear so fast. He just sat and watched about 80% of the movie and then got up and just stayed in front of his seat. Score 1 for mommay....hopefully he'll be just as good next week! And this was after we sat thru some previews and then the silence while they tried to fix the projector. (they never did and had a whole theater move to the next one...UGH!) You can check out this site to see if any of the theaters near you offer them: Free Family Film Festival

It's all over!!

Well, for the summer that is!

No more baseball....EJ's last game was Friday night. Got a cute little bobblehead trophy for E.S. Yes, his name was spelled wrong! The lady who ordered them said she'd get him a new plaque for it.

No more gymnastics....Maddie's end of year show was Friday morning. She did her little show and got a nice trophy which she loves! She "washes" it every day! lol

No more soccer....Maddie's last day of soccer was today. She scored 3 goals. She's pretty good.....I hope she sticks with it!

So it's now just me & the kids all summer long. So I guess it's really over....my sanity will be gone!

If I had $1,000,000!

I know you're singing the song now....

If I had $1,000,000 (well, $1,350,000 to be precise) I just might buy this property. It's just beautiful! Has it's own 3 acre pond, 16+ acres and a nice looking 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house! Look at the scenery...wouldn't it be nice to wake up to that year 'round? I doubt dh would like to mow that grass but if we had 1.3 million, I'm sure we could hire someone to mow it for us! Now if I could only find a cheap little cabin in the NH woods on a stream I'd be happy....

Water, water everywhere!

So....as I type about the yummy pot roast I'm making. Mr. Lucas needs to go wash his hands after stealing a peach. I told him to go do it. Well, since our nifty faucet turns, he decided to turn it all the way to the side and turn the water on full blast. This made the water go everywhere but IN the sink! "ohhhhhhhhh" is what I hear with a big smile on his face. Water is now in my makeup drawer (um, I've been meaning to move that stuff)...dripping in the vanity (yes, I should wipe out the bottom of that!)...and now all over the floor (it does need a good washing). Hey, at least he got his hands clean right??? We'll see how long my make up sits on the bathroom floor, um, "drying". lol

Mmmmmm......Pot Roast

Dawn on my September 2000 mommies board posted this yummy crock pot Pot Roast recipe. I made it today and it's pretty darn good! Of course, we haven't actually sat down and eaten it yet but I've been sampling all day! (and I wonder why I can't lose weight!) I'll be making this more often!

To Die For Pot Roast
1 pkg each brown gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, italian dressing mix
1 cup water
1 roast
Mix dry mixes and water together. Place roast in crock pot, pour mixture over roast. cook on low 6-8 hours until tender and falling apart. Makes a nice gravy. Serve over mashed potatos/rice/noodles.

Oil, the new milk

So Lucas is outside playing.....comes to the door saying "wash hands". Oh joy...what has he gotten into now? It's blue and smells like...oil? Hmmm....I go outside and find a bottle of 2 stroke oil on the ground with the cap off. Nice daddy.....leaving all his crap around. (I put away an open gas can yesterday so my kids don't burn the house down). Went inside to wash Lucas' hands off and see a nice blue ring over his top lip. He won't answer me if he drank it since he's only 2! So....I leave him to keep playing in the sink and call the doctor. I'm on hold for freakin ever listening to some muzak and the nurse says I need to call poison control. Good mommay me has the number on the fridge so I call and talk to some guy. He said that 2 stroke oil is ok to drink. (mmmmm) Well it's ok that it was drank accidentally and it won't cause any damage other than maybe some diarrhea. OH joy! I called my jackass husband and ripped him a new one for leaving his crap all over the place and he promises he'll pick everything up tonight. (picking things up and putting them away is not something he can do apparently)

So that's my day so far....I hope it gets better!

Letterboxing

I decided to take the kids letterboxing this morning. Maddie wanted to go, Lucas will go anywhere but EJ started giving me an attitude. I almost made him stay home in his room for the day! Not the way I want to start summer vacation. He finally warmed up to it when we started looking for 2 of them in Plymouth at Brewster Gardens. BOTH of them weren't there! I wish the placers would keep better tabs on them...the kids get disappointed when we can't find them! We went to another one in Plymouth and did find that one. Then we went to place one ourselves but could NOT find a good place for it anywhere where it wouldn't be found accidentally. We'll try another field in town tomorrow and hope we find the letterbox a home. =) I'm even planting a hitchhiker with it and we'll see how far that one makes it!!

Blood, blood everywhere!!

So I woke up this morning to Lucas screaming his little head off. I went upstairs, tucked him back in his bed and he's saying "rud" over and over. Didn't think anything of it until I was wondering why his blanket was all wet so I really looked at him (didn't have my glasses on so everything was a big blur) and saw him covered in blood. I turned on the light and there was blood all over his bed yet again! He gets these nosebleeds all the time and I have no idea why. Dh said that he had to have his nose cauterized when he was little because he got bloody noses all the time. Oh joy. I think I'll bring Lucas to the walk in clinic this morning and see if they have any insight. I'm sure it will be $20 for a "use a humidifier" or "put vaseline in his nose" diagnosis. And...the sheets will have to sit for a day until we get our new washer/dryers put in...hopefully tomorrow!

YEA me!

Today is check in day for my walking challenge....I'm down 1.6lbs and 3.75 inches!! I walked 20.5 miles last week!! YEA ME! I have to keep this up and I'll be to my goal weight in no time. I set a goal of 75 miles walked this month and I'm more than half way there so I should reach it! Having someone to report to definitely helps. Now if I could only get the eating part to go better......

Letterboxing stamps

I had some custom stamps made for the kids for our letterboxing adventures. The ones I had carved for them were just too big. These came out really cute and I can't wait to get them. If anyone else is interested you can find Tommie's shop on etsy or through her blog. Very reasonable and very fast work!! If I can ever decide what I want for our family stamp, she'll be the one I have do them!! Right now I'll just use our stick figure people stamp, lol.

How cute are they??? lol

Father's Day Card

I just found this cute card on Family Fun's website. I made one for the grampa's and for dh. They are quick and easy!! The kids might even be able to do them (mine wouldn't have the patience, lol). Thought I'd post so you can check them out before Sunday. =)

Walking

So I joined a challenge on the Leslie Sansone boards. I figure this will make me workout. It's working for the most part so far!! I've done 13.17 miles this week and 18.3 miles last week. Yea me! I'm hoping I'm down a few pounds and inches by the end of the month!! I'm doing her workouts during the day, wearing my pedometer and doing strength workouts too. =)

Trying out this blog thing....

Ok, I've jumped on the blog bandwagon. I need to find another blog template for me...this one just isn't cutting it. We'll see if I can keep up with it or if this will be updated every few years. he he.

What's with the word MOMMAY you ask?? Well, EJ and then Maddie have always called me Mom-MAY instead of mommy for some reason. Lucas doesn't really do it...although I try to make him, lol. Here's a pic of my 3 cuties...

of course Maddie's hair is now much shorter. And Lucas looks a bit different too. I'm sure I'll be posting more pics of them!
